Fluor Limited have appointed SEPAM Ltd  as the mechanical and electrical fit out contractor for the Transition Pieces on what will become the largest offshore wind farm in the world - 500MW Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm located approximately 23km off the Suffolk coast, adjacent to two sand banks known as the Inner Gabbard and The Galloper.

The Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm is being developed by Greater Gabbard Offshore Winds Limited, a 50:50 joint venture partnership between Airtricity and npower renewables, the UK fully owned subsidiary of RWE Innogy

It will feature 140 Siemens 3.6 MW offshore wind turbines with a maximum installed capacity of 504MW, sufficient to power over 415,000 homes.

Windfarm small

Sepam Group propose to carry out the engineering and procurement phase of the Greater Gabbard Offshore Windfarm project, using Sepam's Clonmel, Ireland office as the project headquarters.

The onshore work site is located at the Port of Vlissingen in the Netherlands. The Fit-out work for the Transition pieces shall be carried out entirely onshore by SEPAM in the Netherlands.

The design and project management team will be Clonmel based, with the necessary personnel relocating to site for the construction phase.

The project duration is estimated to be approximately 22 months with completion expected in June 2010.
