Clonmel Sports Hub

Clonmel have welcomed the news that a new state of the art sports hub will be coming to town.  As SEPAM prides itself on its local roots, we have become an active sponsor for this project and are excited to see its development.  The key anchor tenants of the sports hub will be the Clonmel Athletic Club, Clonmel Triathlon Club and Clonmel Cycling Club.

This project involves the development of a multi-purpose sports facility on the existing LIT campus at Burgarery Lands West, Frank Drohan Road, Clonmel, Co Tipperary. The development will consist of a running track in accordance with IAAF 2008 standards, a UCI approved BMX track, new buildings, site amenities and additional parking facilities. The site area is approximately 68,300m² (6.83 hectares).

The works also include for planning purposes, designs and specifications for the storm water management system for buildings, carparks and hard standing areas, as well as foul drainage and water supply all to be designed to the requirements of the County Council, in accordance with the criteria outlined in the Greater Dublin Strategic Drainage Study (GDSDS).

This is another huge project for Clonmel and certainly the entire county of Tipperary.  The development of this state of the art facility will attract many outside visitors through training and competitions all of which can help to boost the local economy.
